Our feeding area is so messy Shocked  Does anyone use the feeding bowls that are elevated on the trays?  I am thinking it would make less of a mess??  TIA.

We use the elevated feeders and the food is mostly contained...it's the water that kills us!  Both dogs take a quick drink and then run leaving a flood on the kitchen floor!  I am constantly wiping the floor so no one slips.

I'm so lucky that Pudgy isn't a drooler and doesn't make a mess with his water!  I've been using an elevated feeder for about two years now.  And I will never go back to a regular bowl on the floor.  My vet suggested it because the elevated feeder causes less strain on our bullies since they won't have to lean down as far to eat.  Before when the bowls were on the floor, you can hear him breathing hard while trying to eat as well.  But now that his food bowls are raised, there's less mess and he breathes better when he eats.

I have that one, and I bought it on sale for $15.  I like it because it was the storage on the bottom, and whenever I go on trips.  I just bring everything Pudge needs on the storage part underneath and we're good to go.

We use elevated bowls also,  and we have the same problem.. the food is good, but Leo gets water everywhere!! I do love the elevated feeders though!

We got them originally because having their neck not bent while eating is supposed to help eliminate gas, and it really works! Smiley

Maggie has an Odie feed Mat that curves up on the outer trim to hold the water on to the mat.  (Odie from Garfield Comic)

I used the elevated dishes with her for a little bit and she was not real keen on it ..... who knows why .... but she would walk by it and bark at the stand ... Roll Eyes

We've got elevated feeders for Bella.  It sits on top of a clear plastic mat to catch water and food that happens to miss Bella's mouth.  Under the mat is a clean towel to catch any water from her mouth when she walks away.   Grin

This time of the year at places like Home Depot, Menards, they'll have these black plastic trays that have a lip. They're for putting shoes on when coming in from the snow and mud. I put one of these under the raised dishes and it's worked great.

Except, there's never any food left laying around.  The only real mess are the walkaway drips.  Roll Eyes

We looked for a good set of elevated bowls at Petco & Petsmart over the weekend. Just looking for something simple & tasteful. Probably just a wire type as the cleanup on the full body styles might be too much Roll Eyes

Any good idears???

I am heading to my favorite, local pet "boutique" to pick up an elevated feeder.  They have a nice, simple black wire one I have been eyeing out.  He finally is tall enough for one.  Right now I have a black, rubber mat ( like the ones you see at a gym) under his water and food, but the water still ends up all over the wood floors Shocked  I like the idea of the black mats from HD with the lip on them....hmmmmm, I'll have to check those out.

Well I feed Boomer with a elevated bowl, but leave water on the ground so the cat can get at it. I guess I'm lucky Boomer does not make a mess with his food. I bought this at petsmart...no they do not eat on the dinning table Wink
