I'm picking up my first bully next week (  Grin ), I already have a crate for him that used to belong to my miniature schnauzer, I think it can hold him for a couple of months but I'm sure Ill have to get a bigger one soon; from what I've read, I believe I need a crate that is 36" deep, something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Midwest-1636DD-Life-Stages-Folding-Double-Door/dp/B0002AT3M4/ref=sr_1_2/103-3194416-9291845?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1176661907&sr=8-2

What brand/models do you guys recomend? My requirements are:
-It has to be metallic because it has better air circulation that the molded plastic ones.
-It must be portable (folds down) I think they all are, but just in case.
-It has to be good quality because I want it to last and be able to take the abuse that my bullie might deliver  Cheesy.
-I like the dual door design like the one in the pic, it's not a must but it would be nice.
-Has to be available from Amazon.com.

I need to order it ASAP because I live in Venezuela and it will take an extra month to have delivered to my house from the US, believe it or not, it will cost me less money to get it from the US and import it than to get it from a local pet store.

It's a good idea to get a large one so long as it has an adjustable divider in it.
We ended up buying 3 crates in the end, and the last one has an adjustable bit in it, so we could have used it from the beginning and just made it bigger as we needed it  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Make sure the tray at the bottom is NOT plastic.  We have 2 bargain hound crates and the plastic tray cracked and you can't replace them.

I have 4 crates in the house for 1 bulldog

(1) Medium-sized travel crate he came with as a puppy.  He eventually outgrew this.  I took off the top and he uses the bottom as a small bed to climb in now
(1) Large-sized travel crate.  We upgraded to this and use it for car trips and staying overnight when we visit other people.  It is a lifesaver
(1) Midwest crate upstairs in the bedroom
(1) Midwest crate downstairs in the living room

Go with the quality crates.  We have a good quality crate upstairs that cost about $80
We decided to get another crate for downstairs and went with a $60 crate....BIG MISTAKE.  The cheap crate has a front door but no side door.  The welding was poorly done and the latch on the door didn't line up perfectly.  I had to do some bending and tampering with the frame to make it acceptable.

I don't know the specific models but I can look them up if you need

Midwest makes great kennels! I have eleven of them! I like the Midwest Ultima fold down kennels. Smiley

Midwest is an awesome company.  I have a midwest dog crate for Pudge that's very easy to use, a midwest foldaway excercise pen that I use to fence off areas, and three midwest cat cages that I use for my chinchillas.

Before buying a fold down wire crate, I went through at least 4 soft crates.  I liked the look better, but they just crapped out easily.  The first two, the zippers just broke after a while, and then Pudge found out he could claw his way out.   Roll Eyes And one got stolen while I had it outside on the driveway to dry after I washed it.  So I spent a fortune on those but have had my wire crate for over a year with no problems.
