I found this guy while browsing youtube, he has quite a few videos and some sort of newsletter about dog training, I've seen some of the videos and he seems to know what he's doing but I'm no expert, what do you guys think? (he also offers a free e-book)

youtube videos:

his website:

I came across his videos while I was looking for info about choke collars, the trainer recomended them for Manolito but I'm not 100% sure aboutn them, are they dangerous to be used on bullies?

I haven't looked at the videos yet, but...
Eek!! I would never use a choke collar on a bullie!

Their anatomy (airway/trachea) is very different than a long snout dog, and can be harmed very easily!

Please don't use one - get a harness that you can control him with.  Try an easy walker harness, or something similar!

I'm glad you did some research regarding it! Kisses to Manolito! Kiss

I forgot to say that if you pull hard enough on a choke collar, you'll collapse the trachea of a bulldog and that can be a fatal mistake!

Here are a few no-tug harnesses:

I'm not sure if you're looking for a collar for training or to discourage pulling...  Kiss

It's not because of pulling, Manolito is very well behaved when he's on a leash and he's definately not a puller (thank god), but a trainer sugested (and used one) on our last training session to correct some of his behavior and I was a bit weary of it, she didn't use it excessively or with to much force because he responded quickly (I was with them the whole time to make sure he wasn't getting hurt), but still, I wasn't feeling confident about using it on him.

Since bulldogs are not very common in my country, most trainers don't know much about them and their anatomy, thus they asume that since bullies look so tough they can't be harmed by something like a choke collar.

She's nice and she has helped us solve some of the issues we had with our dogs so I will let it slide, Ill just tell her that I don't want to use it anymore.

Now, about the guy in the videos, he advices against using the choke collar also (good sign), did you see some of the vids? what do you think?

He looks decent to me!!  I am by no means the dog whisperer, but he looks good!!  If you ask me, something can be learned from everyone!!

I kinda figured that's why the choke collar was recommended.  I just had visions of it being very warm there, using a choke collar, and EEK! well, you know!  Honestly, I didn't know either.  We always had them on most of our dogs when I was growing up.  I learned after I got a bulldog Grin

Still give that Manolito hugs from La Flaca! Grin
