Yup took Bear for his shot updates yesterday and got a glowing bill of health.
The vet says he is the most active bulldog he has coming in.
He also was very pleased with his weight loss. I've gotten him down to 55 lbs from 71 lbs. I've put extra effort into this since he tore both ACL's last year.
The vet examined his torn ACL's once again and confirmed that it was the correct decision by the surgeon and myself not to operate. It made me feel good. He's had 2 torn ACL's for over a year now and all I do is give him a high dose supplement. He has not shown any lameness since a couple weeks post injuries.
And his teeth have no build up at all.
When we left he said that Bear was in excellent health and I couldn't be happier.

(I'll be lurking for 'em ) Hi Blaine, The whole secret to it was cutting him from 2 feedings a day at 1 cup each to 2 feedings a day at 3/4 each. This has been a year that I have been doing this. He gets no table scraps. Except maybe once or twice a week when daddy is home and is naughty and will throw the pups one little bite of meat. I feed him DVP NB Duck & Potato and he also gets the same formula for his treats. Big thing is recently DVP came out with small breed sizes so we switched from regular size to small breed to cut down the portions. (Daddy likes to over indulge the pups on treats.  ) |
