New ads

I've suggested and been a supporter of adding ads to the site to offset the time and money you've spent providing this for us James.

The new banners on the bottom and that will flash above and below an individual post...   annoying  and a little much I think.

I agree with that, though I haven't seen one that does that.  Did you happen to notice who's ad is not playing nicely?

It's just been weird this morning. I'm having to do a lot more scrolling around to get the threads in view.   One that was suddenly above and below the one post I was reading at the bottom was all red. I don't remember noticing what the ad was for, just the major distraction.

not to be confused with the random images that the SPOTTT spot shares sometimes.     

I'll make an effort to note what tries to monopolize/maximize it's screen time.

Thanks Blaine.  I just saw one do that myself - it was for Circuit City.  I'll see what I can do to stop that.

The Circuit City ad is really annoying  I have floating cameras blocking posts

too bad it's CC but it makes  sense, at least in my case

I swore at them and swore off them years ago.  Basically for the same thing... annoying, aggressive tactics. 
if casting a pox was still in vogue I'd cast a pox on them.

I've just blocked the CC ads.  Please let me know if this continues or gets way out of hand.  It will take a while before the change takes effect.

I don't have white space at the top.  I have an ad for an in-line game.

Well, it's the same at home (Norton) and here at work today (McAfee).
Between the  Banner at top and the 'Goliath's Discussion forum', it's all white space now. No advertisements.

blaine, sometimes i have em sometimes i dont. "sometimes u feel like a nut sometimes u dont" ahahahahahaha. i dont know the whys or what fors, and dont have the patience (really) to try n figure it out.

There's some browser inconsistencies with how they are reading my web stylesheet that controls layout.  To be honest I've been pretty lazy about making changes as I've  been focused on some other things.

Just to be clear though, you are truly seeing 2 pages (as in page down twice) of blank white space before the posts start?
