There are certain words on the board and in posts that appear in blue with an underline and when my cursor rolls over the word, an ad window pops up  Huh Anyone else seeing the ads?

I am. In fact I laughed when I looked at your post because "Embedded" in the topic area was blue and double underlined with a pop up hehe

Not sure of these add-ons are the reason I am not seeing the embedded ads or not...  but, I'm not.

I have tons of add-on running... they really do enhance Firefox well.  There are some really great ones if you are a gmail user as well.

Let me know if it does the trick for you.

Better Gmail 2  - version 0.8.4

CustomizeGoogle - version 0.76

Google Redesigned - version 0.3

Integrated Gmail - version 2.0.1

Are the ones I use.  They really customize Google and Gmail.  I have Gmail,, Google Voice, Google Calendar, Reader, Twitter, picasa, Maps and my GooSync Tasks all formatted as drop down menus on my Gmail page.

I also have my frequently used lables/folders on the left side along with my Contacts and Google Tasks; while on the right I have the drop down for my Google Chat.

Within the add-ons I have also set Google/Gmail to always use https (rather than http) for better security as well as remove any and all ads or sponsored links that Google/Gmail adds to emails and webpages.

I also suggest you go into your Gmail settings and use the 'Labs' tab to find many more features that Gmail has for you to use.

To give you an idea what my Gmail page looks like see the picture below.

Thanks for posting this.  One of my ad networks recently added inline ads to the standard ad mix.  I needed to opt-out to prevent them from appearing, which I have now done.  Smiley
