Yep, malaseb is no longer available.  Here's a link explaining why the FDA shut them down.

Even though there's no longer malaseb, there's other products that are similar.  I just ordered some Mal-a-ket wipes and malacetic spray from entirely pets.

How is the Mal-a-ket doing?  I am reading reviews on Amazon, and some bully owners are not having luck with the wipes, but having more luck with the Malacetic.  Dozer's wrinkles are starting to get icky and plain baby wipes are no longer doing it for us... Anyone find a good replacement?

i dont like the mal-a-ket at all. it didnt do anything for my bullies. i am using trizCHLOR 4 pads. i get them from my vet. they work better then the malasab on steeler. his face is snow white and he had terrible tear stains. i tried everything and nothing worked. these did.

i hope you all have better results with the mal a ket then i did.

We have been using the Dermachlor K products for well over a year now with great results.  We use the flush on the face folds once a week and keep them smelling neutral and yeast free.  They also make wipes I believe.  Their products work better for us than Maleseb ever did and are cheaper.  In fact, I threw out the old Maleseb.

Thank you all for the suggestions.  We have always used the ear flush and shampoo for our basset as their ears and folds can get icky just like a bully's.  I am going to ask my vet about something new.

MattyGit- Where do you get your Dermachlor K from?  I am interested in trying it.

I just bought the Dermachlor flush from amazon.com.  It smells fruity, the dogs hate it. Oh well. they hate everything that involves wrinkle cleaning! Too bad sweeties!!!  Wink

I have been using Malacetic wipes since I first rescued Lumpy. They work well for him!  Smiley

I have used Listerine laced with gentian violet with good results but it stains white coat for a few days.   I have read about several natural remedies and would like to know if anyone has any experience using   silver   I have found that educating myself can lead to lower vet bills and healthier dogs.
