Starting to settle into a routine here and I got 6 hours of sleep (in 2 hour bunches)
Mommy appears to be on the upswing. We were touch and go for the first day or two and her fever spiked to 100.4
I was told to call the doctor if she hit 100.5 for 2 hours.
For those of you curious on the details. Raquel is our first child but labor only lasted 6 hours!! My wife was 39 weeks and wasn't sure if her water broke. Midwife told us to come in and check to be safe (I didn't bring bags b/c all the stories I heard said first timers get sent home until the magic 5/1/1 rule is satisfied). Confirmed water broke but decided to admit us and induce but commented the contractions appeared to be starting on their own.
So at about 12pm my wife measured 1cm 50% and -3 station
IV was started for pitocin around 1:30pm. I left around 2pm to get the bags we left (already packed though). I returned just after 3pm and the nurse said you got back just in time hurry in there she is in pain. My wife rode through the first contractions no problem but then they became 100x worse she said. She was on the verge of breaking down and was begging for epidural while I was gone. They were just prepping for the procedure when I returned. Doctor walked in the door after me.
Once that was working she was pain free and happy.
They checked her again around 4:30pm and she was 6cm 100% effaced and -1 station
Insane progress for a first timer!
By 6:20pm she was 10cm and +2 station and they setup to receive the baby
She only had 5 pushing sessions and the baby was out...it was unbelievable
She was born on 1/10/10 (already nicknamed "binary baby") and weighed 6lbs 14oz at 20.5 inches long
She came out crying and full of life. Got APGAR of 9-9
Here are some pics of my daughter from her first 3 days

Wrapped up like a burrito and winking at me while I take her photo haha
