Hey Group...

Does anyone know if there is such a thing. heart worm meds without the nasty pesticide ivermectin.    It took me a while to put the two together, and i also never like to think much about it. Sad Sad   Biggie gets seizures after getting heargueard or iverhart meds.  They are small, but very scary, and i've been able to keep myself calm while it happens and am able to support his weight for him.  It happened again this month, and i don't want to see it happen again.  I'll ask the vet about it.  But as i say to newcomers, i come here first.   Any ideas??

Thank You
Simon
...and my Baby...when he was a baby...i think the paws stayed the same size.

I did a quick "holistic" search and came up with this:

I know exactly where you are coming from Simon, and I haven't vaccinated Brody since he got his one year shots and he's now 3 years old.  The vet doesn't agree with my plan  of action so I just tell him I home vaccinate to save the argument.  We also haven't given Brody heart worm preventative since he started having seizures at 18 months old, we just spray him down with a mosquito repellant that I get at a local feed store when he goes out in the summer time.  He doesn't get sprayed each and every time, but we do try to do it fairly frequently.   Neem oil and geranium oils are supposed to be natural repellants.  Geranium smells a hella lot better then the Neem though..

So far B has survived 2 Texas summers without getting heartworms - I continue to worry though.

Found it!!  I remembered last year doing research and I came across this product.  I didn't buy it because we were adjusting B's food b/c of allergies and I didn't want to introduce an unknown into his system at that time.  It looks promising..

You guys are the best.    I'm placing an order for each one.  Which-ever we decide not to use, we'll just share with our friends.  I love all the ingredients in them.   Grin
