RIP little Maltese  Cry Kiss

I wonder why they could not stop Cadillac from attacking the Maltese and it's owner?  Angry Angry

The thing that stuck out most to me in that article was that the person calling 911 said it was a Pit Bull.  Why is every single dog attack blamed on aPit Bull until proven otherwise?  That poor, misrepresented breed.  They're such loving dogs and get such a bad rap.  Most people couldn't identify one if their life depended on it.

As far as the Bulldog? I doubt this will be in the news for long.  The media is only interested in Pit Bull attacks.  Very sad for the dog's owner, I can't even imagine what she's going through.

Sadly, yes. Here is a pic of Cadillac. Although you can't of course be sure from one pic, I see an energetic young bully, being controlled by a choke chain and with other evidence he may not have been under proper control. It still seems strange to me that Cadillac killed a little dog, even if he was attacked first. Our boy is big and, although he's starting to get middle aged now, can be quite aggressive for a bully, and gets in a couple of fights a year (when bigger dogs attack) but he always just turns away from aggressive little dogs.

Here is the latest - plenty of coverage where a "celebrity owner" is involved! - Cadillac the bulldog has been spirited away to avoid being euthanised. She had bitten another dog previously and been sent to a doggie boot camp, from which she had recently returned. She might also have bitten another person in the apartment previously. Apparently the little maltese was running in the hallway off lead.

In one sense if true I think this is a better outcome. It is not Cadillac's fault her owner has not dealt with her aggression issues, and killing her would have been "two wrongs" instead of one. But it seems appalling that someone who does not apparently know how to control a dog with aggression issues will be continuing to own her. I think comment 7 is on the mark.

So I read the TMZ article...and apparently Bulldogs are Pit Bulls in disguise!  Roll Eyes  This is comment 29.

This dog does have "pit" in it because of the brindle striping. Mosthomeowners insurance will drop you like a hot potato if you own one. Hence, the reason forall of these creative breeds of pit.

The morons out there never cease to amaze me.  Roll Eyes I mean, didn't you know, only pit bulls have brindle coloring (insert sarcasm here).

I also hate that pits are always blamed for attacks and they are not always involved.  Angry I love pitties! They are excellent family members. I miss Essie so much every day.  Cry I will rescue another pittie one day.

The comment posters are just geniuses it seems!  Here's another gem. What do you know, it's not a Bulldog after all!

I'm not sure what type of dog that is, but it certainly isn't an English Bulldog, which is the 'bestest', sweetest, prettiest dog in the whole wide world!

I think the media is starting to refer to pitbulls as bulldogs. Get your breeds straight, please.

I wonder how long before Bulldogs are grouped with the rest of the bully breeds and banned in apartments/cities?

just an observation....i believe "doggy boot camps" are one of the worst training methods out there. you have NO idea what they are doing to your dog. i know someone who sent her rotty to one and came back a completely paronoid, unhappy dog. if you cant deal with training your own dog then you shouldnt own one.

my daughter has a 4 lb chiuaua and we dont let the bully's anywhere near that little thing. steeler would think its a chew toy that moves. lol. bullies play rough way too rough for a little bit of a dog like that. the little "rat" dogs in my neighborhood cause a huge stink when we walk by which gets my dogs all up in arms. that poor little maltese should never have been off leash.

AGREE 100%!! Too many dogs that go off to "doggy boot camps" come back scarred from the methods used. If you don't have time to work with your dog yourself with a trainer, you don't have time for a dog!

Ok I am going to stick my 2 sense in seeing as how I have Miz Shelby a 4 lb Yorkie with the bullies. I am always constantly on guard when they are near her Shelby has had 2 acl surgery in the last 2 years and one was simply because she and tink were running around playing and tink plowed into her. When the 2 bulldogs go at it and try to fight she is the moron that tries to get in the middle of it. If we arent in the room/ vicinity we don't leave Tink and Shelby in the same room. They should of kept a close eye on the dogs and I can tell you the little ones 90% of the time start it(speaking from experience ) Last night while watching TV Shelby got out of this small dog bed we have tink was playing with a toy got tired fit her whole butt in it and here comes Shelby with a different toy tossing it in the air catching Tinks attention tink gets out of the bed to see what she is doing Shelby runs around her and goes to the bed and lies down. brat!!!!
