So I read the TMZ article...and apparently Bulldogs are Pit Bulls in disguise!  Roll Eyes  This is comment 29.

This dog does have "pit" in it because of the brindle striping. Mosthomeowners insurance will drop you like a hot potato if you own one. Hence, the reason forall of these creative breeds of pit.

So, this sounds like my HOA... They sent a notice to us saying its against our HOA rules to have Pitbulls in our neighborhood.  I went to them with Dozer's AKC registration and a letter from the friggen vet and said "He's a friggen purebred English bulldog, NOT a pitbull."  They 'seemed' ok with it at the time, we'll see if it changes or if they do it again because a neighbor mistakes him for a striped pitbull...  Roll Eyes

Ugh, I hate ignorance...I'm sorry you had to go through that, hopefully it is a one time thing.

And I wish to the heavens that the day will come when people stop painting pitties as EVIL Angry  I mean, geez, does anyone know that actually, statistics show that more golden retrievers are responsible for human attacks than any other breed?  I am not knocking goldens, I'm just saying, learn about a breed before we make a biased decision that hurts innocent dogs.  A dog is not inherently aggressive because of it's lineage...Sorry, I'm ranting again...

I would have responded with a letter saying "Oh good thing my boy's an English Bulldogge!"

I think I own the only bully in my town, you would not believe how many times people come up to me and say "WOW that is a short pit-bull"  Huh REALLY>>>> yes Vegas is brindle but other than that there is not one similarity with the two breeds!!! I have never seen a pit bull with a squished in face like bullies have

Oh, i forgot to tell about my day at the dog park.  So Dozer had to go say hi to every dog and human there.  He was running and playing with a group of big dogs and one of the owners of a BLACK LAB comes over and is like "Is the little guy yours?"  So we start talking about him.  Only memorable thing to come out of his mouth "Must have some pit in him.  He sounded just like a Pit while playing with my [insert dog name here]."  I had the "your such an idiot" look on my face and said, "Well as a matter of fact, he DOESN'T.  You know, I think Pitbulls have more Terrier in them than Bulldog because my dog has no nose whatsoever.  And i'm pretty sure he's purebred, because AKC sent me papers on him when i got him."  He went "Oh" and went away... Really?  I mean Really!?   Guess what? There was a Pit and a Pit cross that came in and were the greatest dogs having so much fun playing, but no one said a word to the owners even asking what kind they were.  Granted i stood there and talked with them about the ignorance and idiocy of people... That and poor Dozer was being picked on by a Doberman... She was a nasty one... Yet everyone was like "haha look at her, she's bullying the bully."  Was so NOT cool.  We left shortly after she came in.
