I noticed this lump like thing on Winston's back leg today   Tongue .....my camera wasn't working so I had to use my cell.   Roll Eyes My thumb is in it to show the size.  Any ideas?  It is not hard but soft and doesn't seem to bother him at all.  I am calling the vet tomorrow also to try to get him in but thought maybe someone else had this?

It could be a hygroma but I would take Winston in to the vet to make sure. Hugs to you and kissed to Winston!  Kiss Kiss

Thanks.   Grin After reading about hygroma, sounds like what it may be but I am still going to take him in and get him checked.
He's also got some calluses which are probably due to age too.  But only this one big lump  Tongue

yes Winston...you are maintaining still at 50.5

where is dat doctor...aye gots things ta do

like gib him a wittle "gas" so da woom will smell good when he comes in

okay...ewe guys talk and aye'll just lay here....

The vet thinks it is a "cystic tumor".  He had a couple other spots on his front leg which he thinks is "deep pyoderma".  I mentioned the "hygloma" and he said no because there is blood in these areas.  He measured it and put him on antibiotics for two weeks.  I take him back to see the size then.  Because of the area of where the tumor is, it is difficult to cut it out.  There isn't a lot of skin so it's harder to heal and therefore, it sometimes is worse after surgery.  I love this vet - he is so NOT knife happy or eager to put a bullie under anesthesia.
I talked in detail to him also about Winnie's back legs (giving out occassionally)and we're going to do some xrays after we get this other stuff cleared up.

Hugs and kisses to Winston to make his booboos all better.  I'm glad to hear you have such a good relationship with your vet.  (I love our vet, so much so that I'm willing to drive 1 1/2 hours just to see him!)
