My 3 1/2 year old male bulldog has started a concerning pattern of pooping in the house.

The backstory:
Several months back, our dog developed a skin infection, so we've had him on Baytril for a long time. His bathroom routine changed a bit, and I attributed it to the medicine.

He developed a pattern of pooping 1-3 times a day. Lately, its been 1-2 times on the morning walk (6 am) about 20-30 min after breakfast, and then either at lunchtime with the dogwalker, or right around 4 pm when my wife got home from work. A month back, my wife noticed that our dog would pee on his dog blanket/bed which he would lay on. So we took it away.

Now, after the morning walk, which he normally pees and poops, he ends up peeing and pooping before the dog walker comes, as early as 10:30 am. (4 hours after the morning walk).

I am very confident that its not an issue of holding it, as he has been capable of holding it more than 6 hours.  So we think he is doing it out of spite or fear?

Any thoughts?

I have nothing to offer except sympathy! Can your vet offer any insight? Maybe its the meds?

I hope you have this resolved soon. I know how frustrating odd potty changes can be.  Smiley

Thank you. My wife did some research as well, and suspects it may anxiety. We're gonna try crating him in the morning and have the dog walker leave him out.

We'll see how that goes.
