I was wondering if any of you own Frenchies or breed them or know of reputable Frenchie breeders in the northeast...?  Thanks! Wink

Thanks, Susan!  Hi to you and your three adora-bull "children" too Kiss Kiss Kiss  I just joined a Frenchie Forum, so hopefully those members can steer me in the right direction Wink  I know of some breeders/sellers in the northeast, but they're far away and I'd really like to be able to visit the premises personally and talk to the breeders face-to-face.... Of course, English Bulldogs are still my favorite Roll Eyes  No doubt, I'll have some of each---soon!  Happy New Year, everyone! Cheesy

My kids each have one. Very high energy level, very difficult to potty train.  I adore both of them, they are silly clowns. Stitch is very territorial, which didn't come out until he was around 3. He tries to kill any stranger that comes to their house. Lilo on the other hand loves everyone.  The Frenchie and English share the same last name, but the only resemblance I see is the flat face and terrible flatuance Shocked , totally different personalities.  Good luck! When Emma died I considered a Frenchie, but Simon and Magoo kind of fell into my lap so it didn't happen. I usually keep them separated when I keep the Frenchies, my guys are too low energy and it is too much for them to handle.

yea, i was always under the impression there were big personality differences between the english and french--  i love our english babies so much but kim you are right, mine are both enormous and it is killing me lifting them into the car, etc. freida was itsy bitsy and well-- perfect as you all know  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes  Smiley she was much easier to handle.   terry, you just put the fear in me --  the frenchies sound like a handful!!!   Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I know there's a Frenchie rescue group in MA.  I met one of the women that runs it at the Vet a couple years ago.

Don't know of any actual breeders though.

I foster Frenchies for the CHicago French Bulldog Rescue.  And yes they are very, very different then english bulldogs.  We get alot of bullies becasue they have back problems and other health problems.  Many hof them have been dropped and became paralyzed after the fall.  Potty training is difficult and so is any other training you want to do with them.  They are also barkers.

But they can certainly entertain you, love you and they love to be cuddled.  They snore loudly, but when you don't have the snoring around, you miss it.  I've had quite a few frenchies come and go in this house.  I don't know which I do like better, english or frenchies.  They both will steal your heart.

Susan, that's how he is in life, he moves so slowly, it's almost like having a stuffed teddy bear at the house! Except when he gets into it with Magoo. They are best friends and then Magoo gets that look in his eye and they go at it, Simon seems to love the fight and gives it right back to him. I just bought compressed air, next time it happens I am going to try that. Simon gets so winded, it scares me. Sometimes it takes hours to get him settled.

sweet terry i use a squirt bottle and give steeler a squirt on his bootie when he is misbehaving. it works well. air is a good idea also.
