Honestly, I think the breeder should be ashamed of the defects he produces.   The last 2 (maybe more?) died at young ages form heart issues.  This one was only 17 months old! It's one defect after another from this line, not to mention the aggression issues many have experienced with these dogs.  I feel bad that Uga died, but really this breeder needs to stop and read up on what it means to be a reputable breeder. He's giving this breed such a bad name!  I truly hope they go with a different breeder this time!

I just saw this article and immediately came here to say what you just said! The UGA line is a disaster. They desperately need to just start over with a new breeder/line. They make a big deal about all the UGAs coming from the same line but what is so great about having mascots from the same line if you need a new one every year. It makes no sense whatsoever!

I think it would be fabulous if the next UGA was a rescued bulldog!

I could not agree more! One of my vets knows UGA's vet and said that UGA is a genetic nightmare! I feel so sorry for that line and those dogs.  Cry
There is now a FB page urging for the University of Georgia to get a rescued bullie for the next UGA. Here is what to search for: Ask the University of Georgia to Adopt a Rescue Bulldog for the next UGA. If you are my friend on fb, you can find it on my page.
