Hi all! I have posted a few times on the guest board and am glad to be able to join in discussions on the regular board now.  My name is Betty and I have one new bully named Gator.  He is 5 months and 2 days.  We picked him up from the breeder when he was almost 10 weeks old.  My husband is a Navy Chief and has always wanted a bulldog.  We held off for several years because we had a Basset Hound named Lucy and three cats so it was a pretty full house.  Well, over the last two years we have seen our kitties go to the bridge for various health reasons and felt that the house was a bit empty. Poor Lucy loved the kitties and seemed as though she wanted a new companion so we began our search for our new family member in earnest.  We were lucky enough to find a wonderful breeder with a nice litter from a great sire and here we are!

Gator has been a lot of fun so far.  Lucy and he get along beautifully and love to play and hang out together.  They took to each other right away.  He has a lot more energy than he does since she is almost 8 years old but she is keeping up great! We are really enjoying getting to know the bulldog breed and our Gator (who is hilarious!).  I would like to say thanks to everyone for their good advice on the guest board.

Welcome!  I am Trish. I am the Louisiana volunteer with Mid-Atlantic Bulldog Rescue. I am owned by Lumpy and Bozz, my rescued bullies, Calla, my lesser sulphur crested cockatoo, Sunshine, Bella, Honey, Lulu, Godiva, and Ani Mae, my rescued mutts, and Goblin AKA The Beast, Gigi, and Toodle-Loo, my rescued kitties. I used to work at my local animal control about nine or ten years ago and that is where most of my dogs came from. They are all getting older with the exception of Ani, who is a rescue from Miami. She looks like one of our dogs that went to the Bridge in October, Nubbin. I am married to a wonderful man who works in IT.

It is great to have you and your family here! I cannot wait to see pictures!

Thank you all for the warm welcome!  I am glad to have found a great support system since I think that being a bulldog owner will be very different from being a basset owner.  There is so much more to think about!

I'm owned by the love of my life, Porkchop, who will be 3 in August.  We got him at 8 weeks and he's been the most perfect, healthy dog ever.  Meatball is his brother and he'll be 2 in May, we got him at 11 months after he was returned to the breeder, presumably because they couldn't afford his vet bills anymore. Each came from a different breeder.  We are considering getting another from PC's breeder, a female puppy, but just talking about it for now. Not sure if we can handle another!

I am Niki & am owned by Buddha who is almost 10 & is the light of my life.  We've had him since he was 8 weeks & have been very fortunate in that he has been & still is a pretty healthy bulldog.    Can't wait to see pics of Gator & Lucy.
