Hi all. Been a long time.

So Bailey has had hot spots for basically a year now. Lots of itching, red spots, weepy sores, anitibiotics, and tears (the tears are all from me). Just got a call from the vet. The latest culture showed a growth of MRSA, so we're getting her on a new antibiotic today for the resistant strain.

What do I need to know? Seems like we've been fighting this for a year and we're not getting anywhere.

Norman was just diagnosed with it this week.  We sent in extended panels of cultures and we decieded the best treatment for Norm at this time is homeopathic.  I contacted the homeopathic vet yesterday and she is going to look at his records.  I will let yaknow how we are doing.

Keep me up to date with everything on your end.

I don't have any knowledge on MRSA on animals, but thanks for posting this. I deal with hot spots on Simon all the time. I am going to ask my vet to test him for it. He is constantly on antibiotic 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.

Good luck to Bailey and Norman.  Kiss Kiss Kiss

I remember reading an article about using a certain type of honey for MRSA..

Guess you could put Koban over it to keep the pup from licking it off.   I also remember the various uses of Neem oil, I used it successfully when Brody had demodex.
