We've met this bully once before. His owner obviously has a boat and was keeping him chained up at the boatshed. He was not that great with our boy, wanting to hump him (which our boy does not like). The owner I'm afraid is not a good one. His bully has very bad eyes, and some lesser skin problems.

Today we met him again. He had escaped off his chain. Here are two pictures. You can't see his really bad eyes, but you can see he is happy to be free! Our boy is turning away in the pictures, because of the humping thing (ie our boy is trying to get him to calm down). I told the other bully off and gave him a bit of a scratch and he then got more relaxed and stopped hassling our boy. We went walking about fifty yards with the two bullies being reasonable pals. However then the owner wanted to get him back. His bully wouldn't come back (surprise surprise) so he got his car and drove over; his bully cowered a bit when he drove over.

I think next time I will offer to take his bully for a walk to the end of the beach and back; then at least he will have 1/2 hour or so of a good time.

Poor bullie!  Sad Thank you for being so kind to him. It sounds like the only kindness he has seen in a while.

Aw, that is so sad but so nice of you.  Kiss Here in our county in Florida, they now have a "tethering" law about tying your dog up outside.   Angry
Maybe you can talk to the guy and talk him into surrendering his dog?

I love people like you! I am a person like you! I may have even gone a step further and begged to keep him.. I dont get why people that treat dogs like crap would even want to own a dog.. especially a bulldog that needs even extra love.. That sweet bully deserved a good day at the beach! You should feel good about yourself. You did a great thing!  Grin

Unfortunately I have not met up with this bullie again since first posting. The owner is affable enough, and said he'd had another bullie who had lived for eleven years. It is just he doesn't look after his bullie properly! I am keeping an eye out for him again!
