I love Bullies!

« on: April 25, 2011, 12:46:06 PM »

It's that time of the year again, and time to start plucking the weeds in the backyard that have overgrown over the past few month.  I just took Belle into the vet because she broke out in a skin allergy/rash on her back.  They shaved the area and gave me some ointment to apply once a day for ten days.  We're on day two and she I'm already seeing plenty of improvement.

And now upon closer inspection I notice Pudge has an allergy spot too.  I applied some of the ointment on him too, but because of the fur I don't think it is getting down to the skin as well.  I may just bring him in to the vet as well and have him looked over just in case and have those spots shaved down just as well.

I hate allergy season!

Ugh I completely understand! When we moved here Ozzy had soooo many hives and allergies it was insane! Poor guy felt so bad one night he wouldn't come out of laying on the bathroom floor in the dark. I just felt terrible for him. Our vet gave us some hydrocortisone lotion that has been a life saver. Ozzy hates it of course but it stops the itching and the redness. We also switched to Zyrtec for his allergy medicine, I think the benedryl just stopped working for him. Good luck in getting it under control, I know it can be maddening Embarrassed

Try Listerine.  It works great for me.  It is great for stinky faces-  us a q tip on the wrinkles soaked in it.   Anywhere the lick and chew on them selves gets doused in it.  I've been using it for a couple of years, and wish I had the money back I used on the stuff from the vet.

One of the reasons I love the Listerine that I mentioned in my previous post is that it is NOT greasy like the ointments.  I just mowed the lawn for the first time last night, and Diesel is having a bit of an explosion of yeast because of it.  I think I need something a little stronger than Listerine this time.  Does anyone know anything about  true colloidal silver  A pug friend of mine swears by the stuff, but it is new to me.  Thanks.
