My 3 yr old bully Guinness has been having issues for the better part of 4 months now. Started with diarrhea and worked up to some intestinal issues. He had been on Royal Canin since birth and never had any issues. He was retaining fluids, his albumen levels were dangerously low and required a weekend at the hospital for an IV infusion and endoscopy to see what was going on. Initial diagnosis was either a protein losing enteropathy, IBD or a food allergy. He went on Metronadizole and Prednazone along with Flagyl, probiotics and immodium. Food was switched to boiled tilapia with rice and/or boiled potatoes. After a month, stool was still very loose, so we switched to Orijen Fish. He recently stopped eating that regularly on his own and we are giving him sweet potatos and eggs just to get his meds in him. Albumen levels are almost back to normal range this week but his red cell count is dangerously low and they may be recommending a transfusion if things don't improve soon. Vet added a few more pills (Azathioprine, sucralfate, and cylosporin. My big beefy bulldog has been reduces to a skinny little frame (down to 43 lbs from 65(!) and I am worried that he is in a downward spiral right now. I know there is another poor guy on here going through something similar and hope someone can help suggest something that can help us out..

Awwww that's just awful. I'm so sorry your baby is suffering and you are going through so much.  I don't have any experience but know others with more experience will chime in. In the meantime, I'll be keeping him in my thoughts and hoping things turn around for him quickly.

All I can offer are prayers.

My boy has food allergies - and he does much better on non-potato foods - but his discomfort is nothing compared to what Guinness is going through.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
We lost our little Midge on May 1st to Acute Renal Failure. Our vet(my boss!) did everything possible. I'm sure your vet and staff will do everything they can for your baby.

Have u tried raw food? They have frozen pre made patties in beef, chicken and lamb. Natures variety makes them. I  would give that a try. Im assuming he had a total blood panel done right?

I hope ur baby is on the mend soon.
