Hobbies?

I read craft blogs and books (gardening, sewing and animal stuff lately)  I sew clothes for Dulce based on kids tutorials I find online.
This year our big thing is raising chickens, We got our first two (tiny) eggs today. The two hens responsible are 18 weeks bantam cochins. Our mixed flock of ten has 3(or 4) roosters.  I'm going to need a few more hens.  I was in 4H as a kid. It's good to have chickens again.

I need to get back into bicycling. I have a road bike, a mountain bike and the back end of our tandem. I also need to get back to my scooter and get my motorcycle license. I'm back to school in a few weeks so t he bikes are just going to have to wait.

My old mother used to keep chickens - they were her pets and one was even allowed in the house!

We have teenage kids and not infrequently go cycling (there are some great bike rides around here eg the Rimutaka Rail Trail which follows an old rail line and goes through about three or four tunnels).

Mostly our lives revolve around our big boy and our teenage kids. When I (dad) have spare time, of which there is not a lot, I read both fiction (love Jane Austen) and non-fiction and also am quite interested in movies. When younger, used to love skiing but getting too old for that now.

My main hobby is reading. I mostly read murder mysteries. I literally, as in 5 minutes ago, just finished reading Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich. On an average weekend I read 3-5 books.

Goodness... i have 2 school age kids, granted they are 5 years apart and still try to beat each other up, so when i'm not breaking up a fight, i'm either working or reading.  *jealous of joy who finished smokin 17... havent had time to even pick it up!*  I also seem to do a whole lotta laundry, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and more laundry. I am looking at going back to school this fall, maybe winter quarter.

My hobby as of late is sleeping whenever I can.

I work in public safety as a civilian dispatcher, we're very shortstaffed and get stuck at work alot. 64 - 72hr weeks aren't unusual.

Meatball meets me at the door in the morning when I come home, runs out to pee, then beats me to my bed and "snuggles" with me while I sleep. (ok, more like tries to push me out!)

Between him, the 20yr old, and the two 17 1/2yr olds... I'm on a dead run between laundry and food shopping whenever I'm awake.

Boy I sound whiny! Sorry!

Oh...lots, i have fabulous grandchildren...lil beauties, love to read, have a few shows i loveee and we spend alot of time in az. We have a condo on the colorado river and boat. I have good friends we spend time with and a big fam. I love to cook and bake also. Also facebook and twitter.....n my two boo's take alot of my ti e!
