Ugh! my poor baby! We need help!  Roll Eyes

I made the decision to switch Chloe over to the "bravo raw diet" after she went through the trauma of her gastroenteritis this summer.  I wanted to make sure she was eating the highest quality of food.  She eats the Bravo "complete and balanced" and right now I have her on the Turkey.  It has "Turkey necks, turkey organs (liver, gizzards, hearts), green beans, broccoli, acorn squash, salt, potassium chloride, vitamin E, zinc oxide, copper sulfate, ferrous sulfate, manganous oxide, potassium iodide and vitamin D" listed as the ingredients.  When she started she had the variety box which was beef, turkey, chicken, and the food specialist suggested I switch her to turkey only because I told him about her red toes.  I noticed about two weeks ago in between her toes started to get a little pink...then progressed to red, now a little yeasty.  Trust me, it's not the worst I've seen...but she never had this problem before.  I get her food from a specialty store "bills wonderland of pets" and he told me that the red toes wasn't from the raw diet.  He said It could be from the wet grass or allergies in the air.  He said something in her body wasn't agreeing with her and that was causing the yeast. SO NOW IM SO CONFUSED!  I was trying to avoid taking her to the vet because he told me they will load her up with Steroids and antibiotic and I'm really tying to take it easy on her belly.  But does anyone have any soluition for this? He recommended I add "Geneflora probiotic suppliment" to her food as well as 2 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil.  I started all that on Saturday and the yeast seems to have cleared but her paws are still really red.  He also said to rub the coconut oil in between her toes because it is a great anti-fungal....however, she keeps licking it right out!  Roll Eyes Please help! I know I've read things on here before about soaking in warm water and bleach...but my concern is how does that help if it's an "internal issue."  Any help, we appreciate!

Ummm.... yeah.... If you rubbed coconut oil on my toes I'd be licking them out too - with a rum chaser!!  Cheesy

Do they look like intertigital cysts?

Where does one FIND these wonderful ingredients?

I never tried the warm bleach with Winston but did do epsom salt with him...and it helped tremendously!
I have also heard great things about the coconut oil.  Keep us posted on what works!

I have also recently discovered that my Dozer (now 15 months) has an infection, which includes or is caused by yeast, on his paws and between his toes. Sounds the same. His paws have turned a Reddish brown color. I had him to the vet last week and was told that it's caused from too much moisture on the paws, which I didn't find hard to believe seeing how he is a huge fan of getting his feet wet. Always going for the puddles and we get a lot of rain. Plus I've been taking to the beach periodically all year and give him a bath once a month. The vet told me that it's common and some dogs (such as bulldogs) are more prone to it than others. He advised that if it returns I may want to avoid puddles etc. I went home with otomax ointment to be applied directly to his paws twice daily for several days.

My delema with this type of treatment is that Dozer hates having his paws examined and staying still long enough to allow me to apply ointment is not something he is willing to do. I have to take him to a groomer to have his nails trimmed because he protest with all his might.

I'm lucky - Meatball see the cream container come out and he rolls over and puts his feet up!  Same thing with clippers!

"Touch my feet? YES PLEASE!!"

(ear cleaning - is a whole 'nuther story!)

I've looked for the coconut oil - it's actually a gel like substance... haven't nerved up to try it yet though.
