Oh no!  That's terrible.  And poor Spike.  How is Spike now?  Unfortunately, it is getting to the point when we walk our four-leggers hat we need to carry something to protect them and ourselves.  Ksdstny suggested pepper spray which I am going to check in to.

Spike is okay now but he had four large abrasion/slight punctures on his back that took a couple of weeks to heal and for the hair to grow back.

I carry pepper spray now too.

The other dog's owner was really apologetic and said the gardener did not close the gate when they left. That has happened to me before and Spike, Bailey and Khybee all wandered off so I couldn't get too angry at him because it has happened to me too.
