I'd say see your vet. Bulldogs are susceptible to luxating patella (knee) issues and dysplastic elbows.

I am aware of that but would he be in such pain and then feel fine so quickly if it were something that serious ? I was thinking it would stay painfulbefore more than a day or less.

Yes, it's possible. Dulce has both on her left side.
If your kneecap pops out of place, it is going to be uncomfortable or hurt. When it is back in place you feel much better.
Could he have sprained something?  How old is he?

He is almost 3. When he was acting up with the front leg he had been sleeping all night. Now with the back one I am not aware of any thing he done he was laying downstairs & wouldnt come up. It only seems to hurt him to come up the stairs now. I am trying to limit him from doing that. Knees donts seem to bother him when examining. Nothing feels abnormal. Will take him to the vet but most things I read says to give it a few days rest ! I was just wondering if any1 else had this problem.

Thanks I am convinced it is more in the hip area not the knees. He expresses no pain in the knees. Was fine again until today whining after a nap then going up or down stairs .
