Life's a Beach!

« on: December 15, 2011, 11:00:26 AM »

Magoo had the Immiticide injections a year ago. He has been HW free since mid January. He is not acting sick but his lymphocyte count is 39,000. Dr. Masters is sending the results to the internal medicine specialist at TLC in Leesburg VA. He said it's possible the Immiticide is still causing the liver to increase the lymphocyte count. Anyone having experience with this???

Dr. Masters left a message while I was out walking Magoo that the internal medicine specialist believes Magoo has chronic leukemia  Cry Cry. They are sending results to the oncologist tomorrow. He has been through so much, I can't bare the thought of him going through anything else. Poor little guy. Please say prayer that the oncologist has a different opinion of the blood work.

I'm so sorry.  I hope the onco has a different opinion like maybe there's a raging infection somewhere. Teaky collapsed a few years ago and the ER vet found elevated white blood cell count which stayed elevated for days and the vet attributed to an unidentified infection possibly deep in her small intestine. Initially, we were told that she could have leukemia - it was a hard thing to hear.

I hope you get some info from the onco that gives you hope.

I'm so sorry to hear about Magoo but have no doubt that you will do everything you can for him, I'm glad he found his way to you Terri. Hugs to you and Magoo (and Simon and Alf too).

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. Magoo and I will be consulting with Dr. Manly at TLC in VA on the 27th. She will be educating me on the disease and telling me our options. Fingers crossed it's not as serious as Dr. Masters indicated.
