Gummi decided Sophie was getting too much attention with her issues so he decided to have a few of his own.

We are closing out 2011 with a bang...

He had surgery to correct a moderate corneal ulcer brought on by entropian condition.  He managed to slip his collar and scratch the graft off so we did it a 2nd time.

1400 or so total for those

Now...follow up visits for his eye and he is healing well but I noticed something and Dr. confirmed.

Malignant mast cell tumor

Suggest surgery to remove the tumor.  Reevaluate after that

Wishing the best for Gummi!!  Pudgy misses him!  My cousin got a bulldog and we call him Evil Pudgy.  Lol, both my guys are so annoyed with him because he's such a hyper bullie and he's just always all over the place.  I remember Gummi being so calm and well behaved at their play dates.

Poor Gummi! Like all men, he has to have all of the attention and up the ante, to boot! I hope he makes a quick recovery and has a healthy 2012!

I am hoping you spotted it quickly and it doesn't spread. My thoughts are with you and Gummi.

Sorry for the delay in updating this.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Primary concern last few weeks has been getting Gummi ready for this surgery.  His eye is now considered healed and he is e-collar free for the first time in a while.  He was romping and rolling with Sophie getting revenge for all her attacks where he couldn't defend himself.

He is scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor on Monday.  Will send it off to be examined (biopsy?) and will let us know the specifics on the tumor after that.

Vet believes we caught this very early and prognosis is positive.  At this time the tumor is about the width of my thumb.  The surgery will be even bigger than that and hope to catch anything that may have spread.  Luckily bulldogs have a ton of extra skin so he won't look horribly deformed after losing the tumor.

Will try and update after the surgery!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that the tumor will be benign and Gummi has a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear that his eye is healed and LOL that Gummi is getting revenge on Sophie for all the attacks during the coning  Grin
