YOU HAVE TO HAVE A BULLDOG TO UNDERSTAND...

« Reply #15 on: June 19, 2006, 09:39:53 AM »

Are you feeding him the same puppy food the breeder fed him? If you changed his food that could also stem the loose stools. Or just being nervous in a new setting. I have heard that can also bring on loose stools... Undecided

He sounds soooo smart! Your going to have it easy training him~

And your wife...YOU GOT MANY BULLY POINTS BY THE LOOK ON HER FACE! I must say...I was just taken back with the LOVE that came across in that first photo...Like...I can see the pup being a "MOMMA'S BOY"...Easily~ Cheesy

I love Chubbs!!!  He's so sweet looking!

Give him some time on the loose stools.  It's probably a combination of nerves, and the food he's eating and just overall getting accustomed to being in a new environment.  I remember when we got Tonka he seemed to have loose stools here and there for a few months.  I've read that it can take them up to 6 months to truely get used to their food, and sure enough right around the time he was 7 months old, the loose stools stopped.  Good luck with your new puppy!!!  Try not to love him too much!!!!!

What a handsome baby! And sounds like he's been such a joy so far to train! The frist pic. is great....definately frameable!

Tip: You can add a little canned pumpkin to his food to help with the soft stools.

Stool  q&a - yeah, I'm not in a panic mode over the loose or soft stools. I know it going to happen and not a problem as long as it doesn't last too long.  I had him on the same food as the breeder but Sunday afternoon added in some RC32.  I gave him a few pieces later by themselves too, so it probably was the change in food. Chubbs is a little fart-knocker so I thought I'd go ahead and cross over to Royal Canin.  Gas is better than the hershey squirts so I'm leaving him on his SD for now. Will give it another go in a month but muuuuuch slower.

I put the frontline plus on him today as he had a few itches and the nibbling they do when trying to get to a flea that's biting.

Today he decides to venture out in the back yard instead of coming right back from a pump-&-dump.

We'll get some new pics today.

Happy belated Father's Day - the new baby is precious. What a cutie! He sounds like he's a quick learner and smart pupper.

We just got back last night from a 6 day road trip and I thought of you guys picking up Mr. Chubbs over the weekend. I'll bet the drive there was tough with all the anticipation.

Congrats to Mr. Chubbs for getting the perfect home.
