I went to the local Petland here once to check on the bullie puppy, also.  It did not look well at all. I left in tears, also and have never been back. I tell everyone I know NOT to go there as those are puppymill puppies.

We have a PetLand by us also, my boyfriend hates that I want to go in there and look because I always leave upset!   We went one time and I asked if I could hold the bulldog, the lady told me only if I intended on buying it because it was really sick and they didn't want it handle if it wasn't necessary Angry    She then told me it was marked down to 2000 because it was sick and that they would send it home with all it's medication. So I asked her what was wrong with the pup, and what would happen if it died when I took it home. She couldn't tell me what was wrong with it, but she could for sure tell me that once I bought it, it was mine Angry  I swear if I had, had an extra 2thou laying around I would have brought the poor baby home.

Oh, Good Lord!!  I didn't know all this about Petland and others.
When I started looking for a bullie, I purposely stayed out of stores.  I didn't have any personal experiences or specific cases but had heard loud and clear the general alarm about puppy mills.

I don't even go into stores that sell dogs, there's enough pet stores out there that just sell pet supplies that I will contribute to without helping out the stores that buy from puppy mills !!!

We don't have a Petland near us , thank God  Undecided

I went to a PJ's pets here and got a very similar story. This bully girl was $4000(but you could pay in installments Tongue) and they weren't letting anyone hold her because she had a 'runny nose'. I told the worker that i had another one at home and then she gave in and let me hold her. She didn't look too bad, but her ears were gunky, it was so hard for me to give her back to the lady that worked there! I asked about the breeder and they send they weren't allowed to give that information??? But that it was a local breeder.

Rest in peace little puppies.... I would have ran right in to that truck, fire or no, and pulled out as many as I could.. Cry Cry Cry

Sometimes an ill tempered junkyard dog could come in handy running down a bad guy.

Why waste a dog's time when a baseball bat will do?

Peace to the sweet little puppers  Kiss
