Hey thanks guys!  I just got home - long day but fun.  This morning we took my father out for breakfast then we came home briefly and I got a few gifts from Goliath and Gavin  Grin

Then I left and went fishing with my brother.  I did pretty well.  I caught a Largemouth bass, a smallmouth bass, two walleye, a catfish, and sheephead( Lips sealed).  I ended up getting a citation.  The county sheriff musta been bored because he was out in his boat and ticketed me for creating a wake in a no wake zone.....pretty lame in my opinion since my little 14 foot boat at top speed makes smaller waves than the big 30 foot pleasure cruisers out there that didn't get ticketed...oh well.

You know after I posted I was thinking wait a minute this isn't your first fathers day (Goliath)!!  Well it's your first skin baby fathers day Wink
Sounds like fishing was a bust with the ticket.  What a bullie (of the bad kind LOL) tagging you on fathers day.  Sounds like you made out pretty well with the fish though.  So how big were they - I mean really - not the "fishermans" way of telling us, LOL Grin

Haha.  Let's see nothiing huge.  The walleyes were 12 and 15 inches, the bass were about 1.5lbs each and the catfish was about 2 lbs.  The sheephead - i have no idea...it was just ugly..doesn't look too bad in this picture but they are gross...

Unfortunately no fish for dinner.  Only one of the walleye was really big enough to eat and so I released them.  I was fishing the backwater areas of the Mississippi river by Wabasha MN.

I usually do pretty good there and am able to get into some hidden areas with my smaller boat.  The problem yesterday was that the water leve was so high due to all the recent rains that other bigger boats were able to get back in my "spots".  When I got to one of my favorites there was a big pontoon and a two people just pulling out walleye after walleye....we ended up moving another spot  Undecided

Oh man that's too bad about the bigger boats stealing your spots.  It's even worse when you see them pulling out fish after fish.
I'm a little familiar with the area you are talking about although it's been years since I've been to Southern MN.  Everything seems to be up north ie camping, the cabin etc but I did hear that there are some really nice camping spots down there.  Maybe if we get a bulliepoloza down there I can check them out Wink
