Please help me with regards to supplementing our precious bulldog.  Deeze-Louise, aka Deezie, is on RC food, bottled water only with AC vinegar, and sometimes a tbls of organic yogurt as a treat on his food.  He was shedding quite a bit, but I use a shedding blade on him every morning and the shedding is no longer noticeable at all!!! Smiley  He has a beautiful red brindle/white coat Wink  What should I buy for supplements??  I want my baby to live forever Wink  Please help.

Hi!  I'm not quite sure what your question is - is his coat thinning?

Shedding can be a sign of other problems, so the fact that he's NOT shedding any longer is good!!!

Hi, my baby is not on any vitamins.  Our vet has always assured us his food had all the nutrition he needs.   After reading through many posts from other bullie owners, it sounds like most bullie owners supplement.  There are so many vitamins on the market today.....I would love to hear everyone's favorites Smiley Thanks!!!

Ohhhh OK... at first I thought you were concerned that he wasn't shedding any longer!!

There are plenty of supplements out there.... USANA makes ones just for animals that ROCK, There's NUPRO (which is sprinkled over the food) and some people use PetTabs...  do research (which you're obviously doing) and use what works best for you!!

I use NUPRO right now, but am thinking of switching to USANA because everyone has had such great results with it.  Hope that helps, I'm sure there are people here that could give you some better advice!!! Grin

I agree with Melanie that if your bully is shedding really really bad, there may be something causing that.

As far as supplements I have Maggie on 3 different ones, one is just a multi-vitamin chewable, one is for her joints that has Glucosamine in it, and the other is BiOmega - it is for her coat and circulation.

If you are interested in getting more info or email and I will help you out as much as I can. Wink

Hi Heather, maggie is on human supplements???  My husband and I take Andrew Lessman vitamins, just an fyi.  Maybe I'll switch to usana if it means less pills to swallow Wink  AL multi alone is 6 pills.  Yucky!!!  How do we figure out the dosage for our bullies???  Sorry for so many questions.

ps.  Deezie does not have excessive shedding.  I was just sharing that I got rid of his shedding almost altogether by using the shedding blade on him every morning Smiley  Also, I learned about the zoom groom from this board.  Petco doesn't carry it anymore....so I went ahead and bought a shedding blade.  It is the best!!!

I think that USANAs essentials (for humans) is two tablets (one is antioxidant, the other is minerals)  I am taking the Dr. Taub stuff right now,  (along with 5000mcg of biotin) and although I'm having great results with it (my nails and hair are AWESOME, and my skin is getting better)  I hate the fact that I have to take about 8 pills a day too plus my biotin!!!  So I just ordered my essentials, and I can't wait to get it.  I'm big on the antioxidants (keeps the aging away you know Roll Eyes Roll Eyes ) so I like the fact that they include lots of those.

Maggie is on usanimals, which is formulated for pet use, and it's highly recommended - all of usana's vitamins are pharmeceutical grade, they're 100% bioavailable.

The website is pretty informative, I think Heather has it linked in her profile.

Mel - the usanimals is actually the children's chewables, but is what is recommended for a dog's multivitamin Grin  Maggie gets 2 of those a day and she gobbles them right down.

The Procossa II is the Glucosamine supplement
The Biomega 3 is the circulation and skin (Omega 3 & Omega 6) supplement

You can go on Autoship and every month they delivery what you ordered to your door, and you can switch off months so one month you can order Procossa, and the next month you can order Biomega, and every month Usana will switch from one to another and ship to you.  When you are on Autoship you get 10% off too.

Just an fyi - their skin care line is FANTASTIC!  It is really really popular out in California - and has been written up in SELF and Marie Claire as one of the best lines out there.

Yeah, they (USANA) is really starting to get noticed all over the wrold lately.  It's interesting to see how all of a sudden people are really getting into it.  They have been around for years.

Did you do that weight test on my website ....... I was ready to throw my computer out the window when it gave me my results! Tongue

Well, I'm not overweight.. BMI 20.  Andy, BMI 28.5!!! Shocked Shocked  But he's solid too, so I think it's none too accurate for him.  It did give some good recommendations though.. it was easy and fun to do!!!

Am I a moron Grin  I can't find the BMI calculator on the site.  Heather, I will order the vitamins tomorrow....is it just me, but I found the site a little confusing.  How do I order through you and how do I get the pricing??   By the way, my babe is having his eye surgery tomorrow.  My husband is driving him to Dr. T in Baltimore.  Poor baby Sad
