My vet sent me an email to see if I knew of anyone who might be looking for a bully, so I thought i'd post on here because you guys are so awesome. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I'll pass it on to my vet. Her vet practice is in the Port Perry area, just to give an idea of location.

This is what she wrote...

"there's a client at work who's looking to give her bully away to a good home.  His name is Caleb...5 yrs old...very nice dog, great with kids and other dogs.  It was originally her daughter's dog and she was supposed to look after him temporarily but now the daughter doesn't want him back.  He's a really nice bully..i've treated him a couple of times for ear infections but the client has a difficult time getting the meds into him...she works 2 jobs and feels bad that he has to spend so much time alone...he also has to sleep in the bed... he's free"

We won't be getting Caleb  Sad .  The organization that is managing his placement doesn't want to place him in a home with little kids (we have a 19 month old).  We got a very nice email stating they have already  found his forever home, so at least that is good to know.

Hubby is now open to getting a bullie friend for Maggie, though, YAY!!  So we will keep our eyes open for another addition to the family.

I am sorry y'all aren't getting Caleb.  Sad It is good to know that he was adopted, though.

I am so happy your husband is open to a bullie friend for Maggie!  Smiley

I had a phone call from the rescue group for Caleb and apparently his placement in his new home isn't going well.  They have another older bullie who isn't getting along with Caleb.  Apparently Caleb likes to play and the other bulldog doesn't, and there is tension between the two because Caleb is bugging him to play.  The rescue asked if we were still interested - we are - and we are meeting Caleb and the rescue people on Saturday afternoon.  They are coming to our house so that Caleb and Maggie can meet and we can see how they interact and whether or not we think he will be a good fit for our family.  I don't want to get too excited, because things may not work out and I want to ensure that it is in the best interests of everyone that he come and live with us.  So fingers crossed!  Wish us luck!!

Well, no Caleb for us Sad

The rescue called and the people who initially adopted Caleb have now decided to keep him as their other bulldog and he are now getting along like a house on fire.  The important thing is that Caleb is happy and he has a good home, so as long as he has that then it's alright. It wasn't meant to be, so I'm sure there is another bullie that will fit in with our family at some other point.
