I have two Bullies, Lily age 13 months, and Daisy age 16 weeks. We lost Lily's sister, Abby at 10 months to an apparent aneurism. We have never had such communicative dogs. They are always telling me something. Usually it has to do with going to the bathroom or eating. But they also talk to me about what's on TV, what their sister is doing, why something or someone is missing, what they hear outside, and a whole range of other topics. How do they talk? It's mostly body language and eyes, but sometimes sounds that they make. They clearly say "Yes," and "No" to simple questions. For example, if I find one of them in the bathroom near their potty park (their indoor toilet area) I can ask "Did you go pee pee?" I get a "Yes" or "No" answer."  You see, they get a treat for going pee pee in the park. And, they don't lie to me. If she has done her business and is entitled to a treat, she looks up at me, wiggles her butt, and moves toward the treats. If not, she just looks at me, and often turns toward the door. It's real clear. I love talking to my dogs, but I love them talking to me even more.

They are very expressive dogs indeed!  My guys are very expressive with their facial expressions.  I can always tell when they are grumpy, happy, sad, pouting.. And they do make noises too, whines, begs, cries.  I love the fact that they can tell me what they want or what they need.  I've never had any other dog that I've been so connected too.  Another reason why bullies are the best companions!
