Lumpy going to the vet tomorrow...
« on: September 15, 2003, 08:37:59 AM »
He is going to be allergy skin tested. I am very nervous as he will be anesthesized and intubated, of course. Please say prayers & send us good thoughts....
I don't know what I would do if anything happened to him!
Thank you ahead of time!
Trish, Jeff, Lumpy & zoo! Until we meet again with Precious, Sapphy and Onnie.

You have our prayers.  Lumpy has gond through so much already.  This should be a breeze for him.  Please let us know how things go.
Kind regards,

Well, I'll be sure to stick my head in and give him kisses. He'll get to see his buddy Spud, although we're not going for good things either. Spud is going to visit with the orthopedic surgeons, as he has clicking noises from his back legs, so it's either bad knees or bad hips..no fun either way  :'(  At least the bully boys will get lots of love tomorrow!

One of the reasons I am so nervous is that this is the first time he will be anesthesized that I will not be with him the whole time! I usually keep my hand on his pulse while he is under & sit with him while he wakes up.

Thanks, Tina!  :D I was going to call you last night, but I fell asleep early with the Lump! I'll see you today...I hope all is well with Spud. I'll kiss him when I get there!  :-*

Well, Lumpy went to the Vet School & had an EKG & bloodwork done. Thankfully, they were normal. But, then the derm department called to let me know that the pharmacy did not have 7 out of the 160 tests for allergens that they use. So, the Lump will go back Thursday for the allergy testing & anesthesia. Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers for just a bit longer. Don't forget about Spud, also.
Thank you!

Thanks to everyone for their prayers & good thoughts! Lumpy came through fine! He is allergic to the common household dust mite (GREAT  :o) & the storage mite. We are in the process of buying our first house, so my townhouse is full of boxes, plenty of space for dust, dog hair, etc... :-[  The storage mite gets in their food after the bag is opened. The way to eliminate that mite? Put the food in the fridge...don't know how we are going to manage that as we get the biggest bag of SD Ultra Z/D that is made.
He also has to restart his food allergy trial b/c his bad Mama thought that it had been three months & it had only been a little over four weeks. It seemed like three months! But, he LOVES his SD, so that should not be too big of a deal. I do get to add fresh veggies to his diet, though. Hopefully, if Aunt Tina gets time she will bake him some special Z/D cookies!  :-* Hee hee!
The good news is that he has had his first negative Demodex scrape!  :D So, we continue the Ivomec for one more month & scrape again. This is his second round of Demodex, so keep your fingers crossed that it stays gone this time!
I guess I'll take some more Nyquil & try to go back to bed. I'm getting sick. :(
